Let's get to know them more closely

Phytotherapy. The use of plants as medicine is as old as mankind. Since ancient times, in fact, humans have always sought effective answers to their health problems in Nature. In order to catalog and teach the therapeutic action of plants, the so-called "doctrine of signatures" was developed and handed down, according to which the shape, color, environment in which the plant grows, and the time of year it blooms, suggest how the plant acts therapeutically—a doctrine still valid today and representing an ancient wisdom that I draw upon in my clinical practice.

The fields of application are practically all of Medicine, in particular:

  • Cardiovascular system, to thin the blood, improve peripheral circulation in cases of venous insufficiency, improve lipid profile, reduce blood pressure, provide antioxidant function, and counteract cellulite.

  • Digestive system, improving the digestive function of all organs (stomach for proteins, pancreas for carbohydrates, liver for fats), contributing to the integrity of the intestinal barrier (leaky gut syndrome), supporting the detoxifying function of the liver and the body in general (kidneys and skin), contributing to bacterial eubiosis, improving intestinal irritability, both in its constipated and diarrheal forms.

  • Endocrine system, acting on the reduction of insulin resistance, improving the sleep-wake rhythm, mood, intestinal endocrine function and thus endocrine modulation of hunger, improving thyroid and adrenal gland function, modulating the estrogen-progestin function in women, both in fertile age and menopause, protecting men from excessive androgenic stimulation (for example in prostatic hypertrophy).

  • Nervous system, for insomnia, anxiety, depression, mental hyperactivity, improving memory and cognitive functions, protecting and improving visual function.

  • Metabolism. In this area, phytotherapy is truly the Queen of natural therapies, because it can effectively act on all metabolisms (carbohydrates, proteins, fats), provide vitamins and minerals as biochemical catalysts, antioxidants for cellular, organ, and system protection, improve acid-base balance, stimulate metabolism against overweight and obesity or, conversely, calm metabolism in hypermetabolic subjects.

  • Osteo-muscular system, to reduce pain and inflammation, counteract osteoporosis, improve fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, and improve joint function.

  • Immune system, supporting the action of cells involved in the body's defense. Here an important clarification is needed: not all plants have the same tropism for the immune system and therefore are not interchangeable. Consequently, therapy must be personalized.

  • Stress. Fundamental support for the body in cases of acute or chronic stress, Phytotherapy is often an extremely powerful and decisive aid for the person.

Bacterial Therapies. The use of probiotics according to the most modern Science should not be done only by knowing the "right" bacterial strains, but by personalizing the therapeutic intervention as much as possible to rebalance the intestinal and vaginal microbiota with specific dietary and supplementary interventions. Hence the importance of performing the microbiota test in advance.

The most important areas of application are:

  • Digestive system issues. Gastritis and reflux, putrefactive and fermentative dysbiosis, SIBO, tumors, digestion and absorption problems, celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.

  • Metabolism, overweight, obesity. The response to diet, resistance to weight loss, insulin resistance, energy production, mood, food choices, are all factors influenced by the qualitative-quantitative composition of the intestinal microbiota.

  • Immune system. 70% of the immune system is located in the intestine and interacts reciprocally with the intestinal microbiota. From this interaction also depends the immunological reactivity in extraintestinal sites such as the respiratory and urogenital systems, particularly in women.

  • Urogenital system issues. The balance of the vaginal microbiota is always important for the Woman's Health, the partner, and the newborn. The vaginal microbiota test is useful to verify and quantify the presence of pathogens such as Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, Gardnerella, Atopobium,  Neisseria, Chlamydia.

Amino acids. Amino acids are the fundamental components of proteins. They therefore have a very important structural role, but are powerfully usable in therapy, especially to rebalance the nervous system by supporting the treatment of anxiety, depression, panic, epilepsy. They are a fundamental support for the elderly and for those who have undergone surgery.

Complementary Enzyme Therapy. Enzymes are proteins that catalyze specific biochemical reactions in our cells and are the basis of all vital processes in our body. Being able to harness their therapeutic power is a great goal that has been achieved by Italian research and that I am able to use with experience for the benefit of my patients. There are no age limits or concerns for pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the young age of the person.

Aromatherapy. Studies and applies Essential Oils (EO) for therapeutic purposes. EOs can be used by inhalation, cutaneously, or rectally (via suppositories prepared by the Pharmacist). They are powerful antibiotics, antivirals, and antifungals and have the characteristic of not inducing resistance, unlike their synthetic drug counterparts. They often prove to be very powerful and it is always best to avoid do-it-yourself, consulting a Phytotherapy Specialist, especially in delicate situations such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, and debilitated and sensitive people (such as allergy sufferers, for example) in general. EOs can also make a fundamental contribution in supporting the nervous system, improving mood, counteracting anxiety, depression, phobias, insomnia, thus contributing to our personal growth and the general well-being of the individual.

Mycotherapy. Studies and applies mushrooms in the therapeutic field. Medicinal mushrooms all have a similar biochemical composition, based on beta-glucans, powerful immunomodulators, true natural "vaccines." I am a Lecturer in Functional Mycotherapy in nationally recognized courses.

The fields of application of Mycotherapy are vast, in particular:

  • Immunology. By modulating the immune system, medicinal mushrooms are extremely powerful tools against viruses, bacteria, allergies, and provide great support against tumors. Many accredited studies in important journals demonstrate the usefulness of medicinal mushrooms in supporting conventional medical therapies, reducing their duration and side effects, and enhancing their therapeutic effects.

  • Metabolism. Medicinal mushrooms are powerful remedies against all the most common metabolic diseases of modern times: insulin resistance and diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, metabolic syndrome, obesity, are just some examples.

  • Digestive system. The fiber in mushrooms is an excellent example of prebiotic food, that is, nourishment for "friendly" probiotic bacteria, facilitating their establishment and reproduction within our intestines. It also counteracts constipation and promotes liver detoxification.

  • Nervous system. Anxiety, depression, dizziness, are increasingly common and strongly impact the quality of life. Medicinal mushrooms can be excellent remedies, very well tolerated and safe.

  • Cardiovascular system. Mushrooms are excellent remedies against hypertension and poor blood fluidity. They are very well tolerated, safe, effective, and can be used by everyone.

Flower therapy. Bach flowers (and not only!) are extraordinary vibrational emotional remedies that act by rebalancing our deep Self. Anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, but also not liking oneself, excessive workload, or the morbidity with which we live certain relationships, are all examples of application of this wonderful therapeutic strategy.
